From our initial email exchanges several months before A’s due date, I knew we were going to get on and enjoy working together. A and her husband booked me to capture their pregnancy and new arrival. A is from the US and with her family being so far away, she wanted to be able to share and involve them in her pregnancy by booking a professional maternity shoot.
We discussed possible locations for the shoot and since they live in (and absolutely love) Deal, we thought it would be great to meet at nearby St Margaret’s Bay as it’s a place they love going to with their dog Jenson. It was a brilliant choice as it provided a great variety of backdrops: the sea and beach, a beautifully textured sea-wall and dramatic cliffs. We scheduled the maternity shoot for golden hour and were treated to gorgeous light. A wore a beautiful white loose fitting dress from Asos which was the perfect choice of outfits. I always advise mums-to-be to wear a loose dress as it allows movement and is comfortable.
I was thrilled that they brought along their playful pup Jenson, he loves the beach and kept us all laughing. A and T brought along some treats for him which enabled us to get some super shots!
My aim is for my clients to feel at ease on a shoot with me, like you’re hanging out with a friend who just happens to have a couple of big cameras with her and gives you a little bit of direction every now and then!

“We had Louisa photograph us for both our Maternity and Newborn photo shoots. We'd really liked Louisa's style from her online portfolio and she made it very easy to understand what we would be getting and how we'd be conducting the shoots. Louisa was very responsive to messages prior and after the shoot and was flexible to our wishes. Most importantly, Louisa is a lovely person and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed, which ultimately made the photos she took better. We're both rubbish at posing for photos, and Louisa was brilliant at suggesting the right set ups for them to look natural, which is exactly what we wanted. We love both sets of photos from each shoot and can only thank her for capturing very special moments for us! We'll certainly ask her for photo shoots again at other important milestones! Definitely would recommend Louisa to anyone!”
