It’s always an honour when another Photographer who I admire and respect asks me to take photos for them. Ewa is an established family Photographer working in and around Hampshire, so I was thrilled when she booked me to photograph her little family. Ewa and her husband took a short Summer break in Margate and have started a brilliant family tradition of booking a professional outdoor family shoot each year.
Ahead of their holiday in Margate, Ewa and I corresponded via email to discuss possible locations. Ewa had booked a beach photo shoot the previous Summer, so while we do have beautiful beach locations in Kent, she was keen to have a slightly different setting. I had visited Pegwell Bay, a nature reserve near Ramsgate, with my own family and so suggested this as it isn’t far from Margate and would provide a peaceful and pretty backdrop for natural family photos. We scheduled the photo shoot for golden hour (the hour before sunset) to make the most of the soft light and were blessed with a gorgeous evening.
It was really great to meet Ewa and her family, we played lots of games, laughed a lot and captured some very special memories together. Ewa has made a beautiful photo book with the images from her shoot and one of the great things about booking me, is that all the best images are included in your package. I don’t limit the amount of images you receive so you’re not forced to make difficult selections - this way your photos tell the story of your session with me, all the unposed, in between moments and giggles which characterise you and your family.
